2024, and beyond
Half a year ago, we announced the launch of xAlliance. Conceived to support talented builders, create opportunities for the MultiversX Community, and onboard new talent to the ecosystem, we’ve been in the trenches since May, experimenting, innovating, pushing boundaries.
Let’s take a look back at 2024… and take a peek at what lies ahead in 2025.
From Ideas to Action: Launching xAlliance
On May 16, 2024, we entered the arena—quite literally—at Dortmund’s famed Westfalenstation during one of Europe’s largest Blockchain Conferences.
With over $100,000 in initial funding to accelerate ecosystem growth at the grassroots level, we started the journey with ten community contributors joining as Genesis Members who played a crucial role in shaping the structure, programs, and even the name and branding of the initiative. This group of brilliant minds pushing for progress has more than tripled in size since xAlliance’s inception and continues to grow.
As one of our first releases, we published a detailed Framework for Action, to guide anyone looking to get involved in the MultiversX ecosystem and xAlliance initiatives. With many lessons learned this year, we are going to further expand and refine these in 2025 and provide easy entry points for community members who would like to take their ecosystem contributions to the next level.
Alliances: Howdy, Partners
Strong communities are forged through strong alliances. We were fortunate to be able to rely on several excellent projects to provide crucial tools for the initiative, from Spawnable’s smart contracts and the Saturn Bot developed by Project X to crucial infrastructure to manage grants and funds provided by PeerMe. Moreover, we partnered with Astrarizon Ventures to support our Members as well as ecosystem projects in building strong connections and improving access to accelerator programs and funding rounds.
Additionally, we were lucky enough to be able to rely on XOXNO’s new ticket solution Zontix for multiple events, use Itheum’s Data NFTs to enhance the xDay Satellite experience, work with AI Nexus to create a clicker game, team up with great ecosystem projects for educational Quests rewarding community contributors, and numerous others for our events around the globe, including partners from other ecosystems like Solana’s Superteam Germany.
Making Frens: xAlliance 💚 Events
One of our main pillars throughout the year was introducing xAlliance to the world at different Web3 (and Web2) events. From Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to the Americas, we had a presence at almost every larger blockchain conference including EthCC in Brussels, Token2049 in Singapore, DevCon in Thailand, and one of the largest Web2 developer-focused conferences, WeAreDevelopers in Berlin.
In addition, we hosted numerous events and sponsored several more: Not long after the official launch announcement, we hosted the French Web3 Community during Proof of Talk in Paris. With Connect³, hosted in collaboration with Solana’s Superteam, we brought together Web2 and Web3 developers to explore how blockchain is changing the industry. Visiting MultiversX’s home in Romania, we met the OG Community in Cluj, Sibiu, and topped things off in Bucharest.
Shortly after, we co-hosted our Blockchain Bazaar during Istanbul Blockchain Week at the Turkish capital—an effort that has since spawned numerous local initiatives. In Spain’s Web3 hub Barcelona, we teamed up with two MultiversX powerhouses Helios Staking & Moonlorian, to host Building Blocks for Business, an event inviting the traditional businesses to explore the advantages of Web3 technology.
For the biggest MultiversX event of the year, the xDay Satellite in Munich, we did not just shine a spotlight on many of our members’ projects and businesses onstage (and had a number of fun surprises for guests—but more on that later); we also hosted an exclusive dinner for founders from the ecosystem to wine, dine, and align.
We also supported smaller meetups around Europe, from a cheese-fueled outing in Normandy, a fun gathering in Gdansk, and many coffees across the world via our Covfefe Fund.
Quest Love: Learning and Earning on MultiversX
One of our most significant and sustained efforts to encourage and reward great community contributions has been the introduction of xAlliance Quests: earning opportunities hosted on our own portal hosted via PeerMe—with rewards and distribution managed fully onchain. With a variety of tasks and topics tackled, hundreds of unique contributions, and over $20,000 in rewards flowing to the community, our Quests explained the intricacies of the MvX tech stack, spotlighted important developments and projects, introduced newcomers to the ecosystem, and paid out a monthly Impact Bounty for outstanding contributions.
In 2025, we will continue to provide additional earning opportunities that, alongside other incentives, open up opportunities for ecosystem veterans and newcomers alike to earn EGLD and other rewards for their work.
Not Taken for Granted: Accelerating Progress
Another significant milestone for the MultiversX ecosystem was the launch of our xAlliance Community Grant Program, an initiative designed to support builders, creators, and entrepreneurs at the grassroots level by providing small grants. Our 2024 recipients were:
Tagrity, now a well-established project fusing NFC and Web3 technology to tokenize real world assets and make blockchain accessible to the masses.
Helios Collabathon, a novel format taking inspiration from hackathon but emphasizing collaboration over competition which resulted in the launch of a cross-chain authentication dApp connecting the MvX & Injective Blockchains.
GM MultiversX, a weekly podcast covering important developments in the ecosystem and featuring many long-time contributors.
xLondon, a community-organized event introducing attendees in England’s capital to blockchain fundamentals and culminating in a hackathon.
MultiversX Warps, an open-source protocol turning blockchain interactions into simple links and providing a no code solution for anyone—humans and even agents—to spin up mini dApps in seconds.
In an additional effort to support strong projects in the ecosystem, in particular those with high volume and either generating a large number of transactions or seeking to expand their onchain footprint, we introduced the Building Blocks Grant, helping projects by covering infrastructure costs while scaling their businesses. Some of the recipients included names like Knights of Cathena, Pulsar Money, as well as Giants Village with more projects lined up for the coming year.
We also distributed hackathon prizes worth around $15,000 to participants during the Proof of Hack contest set during the Proof of Talk Conference as well as a beginner-friendly competition as part of the xLondon event.
Accelerating builder growth will again be a main focus for xAlliance, with more programs, events, and hackathons focusing on useful tools, products, and innovation planned for the coming year.
A Voice For the People: xAlliance 💚 Creators
We’ve always been big fans of inviting people to our island. To bolster MvX’s presence across different social media platforms and incentivize content creators to delve deeper into the finer points of both the technology and ecosystem, we launched the Creator Fund in collaboration with the MultiversX Foundation.
For Season I, three brilliant long-time creators, DB Crypto, Carpathian Stake, and Cuget, released entertaining and educational explainers about everything from Adaptive Sharding and Sovereign Chains to NFT Culture and Memes.
For Season II, we are already working with another group of creators and are looking forward to supporting more great content in the coming year.
Cool Tools + Foolish Things
Thanks to our outstanding xAlliance Members and Partners from the ecosystem, we were able to release a few helpful tools and fun products this year, starting with the one Event Calendar to unite them all—open-source and maintained by the community—and a custom GPT trained to assist Community Members navigate xAlliance’s offerings and help with inquiries about the ecosystem and even code.
For xDay, we pulled off a series of unlikely feats: after managing to convince Beniamin Mincu to part with his beloved leather jacket, we created a mini web series documenting its journey to Moon-ich, released a time capsule enshrined into the blockchain, designed a Web3-integrated clicker game, printed exclusive Member Merch and tokenized our builder vests alongside Beniamin’s jacket. What’s more, every single one of the aforementioned feats went from idea to product in the span of 10 days.
We, the People
Web3 is not about tech. It’s about people.
xAlliance is constantly evolving to foster a dynamic environment and provide support for the brilliant minds that shape and shake the Web3 world. In our mission to discover, develop, and deploy talent, we started with ten outstanding leaders from the MultiversX ecosystem to design a framework that turns ideas into action. In the past six months, this number has grown to 30 Members, each pushing the ecosystem in their own ways and contributing to the growth of the network. We’ve been able to celebrate some remarkable achievements by our members, from product launches and victories in prestigious competitions to starting exciting new jobs and presenting their projects and progress onstage.
In 2025, we are tripling down on our efforts to find and support the best talent in Web3: Onboarding more exceptional builders as xAlliance Members, providing resources for professional growth, and creating additional opportunities for community contributors. Through our own internship program, we will also start our own talent flywheel and give talented individuals the chance to explore the blockchain industry professionally while contributing to the initiative.

If the above tells you anything about xAlliance, it’s that we thrive on experimenting, playing, and, most of all, shipping.
This, by necessity, means that not everything will go as planned or smoothly… or work at all. Embracing uncertainty and even failure is in the DNA of an initiative with the goal to accelerate progress and growth in the ecosystem. We are constantly looking for ways to improve everything we do, provide more and better support, find ingenious problem-solvers, nifty entrepreneurs, fantastic storytellers to join our community of contributors, and do anything and everything in our power to push progress.
